WELCOME MESSAGE

Hello and thanks for visiting Step and Go Dog Training.

At Step and Go, we aim to offer you creative ways to teach desired behaviours, while maintaining a strong bond.

What Step and Go will do for you and your dog:

Step and Go uses everyday resources that your dog values, such as food rewards, game play and attention to teach, reinforce and alter certain behaviours. Step and Go does not believe in or use physical punishment to train your dog. Step and Go will teach you what you need to know in order to continue training your dog at home and in between classes. At Step and Go, we aim to offer you creative ways to teach desired behaviours, while maintaining a strong bond. Through these methods your dog will choose the desired behaviour, happily, and stress free.

Step and Go Provides Training Solutions for:

Resource
Is any item of value to your dog. This could be, treats, food, water, walking fast, being outside, playing games, and most importantly your attention.

Positive Reinforcement
Results in an increase in the future frequency of a behavior due to the addition of a resource immediately following a behaviour. An example would be asking your dog to sit, and giving them a treat for the sit.

Negative Reinforcement
Results in an increase in the future frequency of a behavior due to the subtraction of an unwanted event (often aversive in nature) immediately following a behaviour. An exmple of this is the seatbelt buzzer in your car. The buzzer sound is removed when the behaviour of putting your seatbelt on occurs increasing the likelihood that you will put your seatbelt on again.
